Begins Jan. 13th, 2021
The End.
A course on the end times.
Join us for The End.
We invite you to join us for a three week primer on Scripture’s depiction of the end times.
Curiosity over the “last days” has existed almost as long as humanity. But the last few years have seen a spike in both interest and claims regarding the end. And why shouldn’t they?
Political and religious division, a global pandemic, vaccine cards, unprecedented natural disasters almost weekly, and other current real world realities have us asking, “is this the end?”
But how would we know? And what should we do if so? What do the scriptures really say about the end? Is this the end of the world as we know it?
This class will help clarify and offer a better way of thinking about the last things.
The Details.
Price.
This class is free for anyone and everyone who wants to join in. We do ask that you make a commitment to yourself to fully participate in the class. This means making each session, asking questions, participating in discussion, and thoughtfully reading. Like so many other things, your level of engagement will determine what you take away from the class.
When.
Three consecutive Thursdays, January 13th, 20th, & 27th at 7-8:15p CST.
Virtual.
While the course may not be in person, it will be live and dependent on your involvement. Zoom video, the go-t0 conference software connecting people personally and professionally over the course of the pandemic, allows us to bring the class to you.
In addition, we will host a discord channel, facilitating engagement with one another throughout the week.
About the Class.
This class serves as an introduction to the end times. Together we will look at the relevant Biblical texts, and discuss how genre, language, context, and history helps us better understand what God is saying to us through these fascinating texts.
Weekly sessions will be 75 minutes live. Each week we will examine the relevant texts and the issues they address. We will intentionally leave room for questions and discussion along the way.
We are aware that your time is precious and will commit to keeping the live sessions within the 75 minute window.
We will assign scripture readings for the week. Read them. But read them slowly, meditatively, and prayerfully. Let God’s Spirit edify you throughout this course .
We will also facilitate online conversation, allowing a space for continued questions, conversation, and shared insight with one another.
We hope you will join us!
