The Ending Makes All the Difference
The ending of a story makes all the difference. It affects how we see the rest of the story. When Jesus Christ returns in glory, He will resurrect us and place us in His new creation. This is our great hope. This ending makes all the difference.
Entering into God's Presence
It's easy to take the fact that we have access to God for granted, but it's a relatively new phenomenon in the history of the world and one that is overwhelmingly good. Because of Christ's sacrifice we can now confidently enter into God's presence, having God's acceptance and pleasure because of His acceptance of and pleasure in Christ.

After an awful week of explosions, manhunts, and attempted poisonings, please stop telling me that everything will be ok. And please stop telling me to believe in God's promises. I don't believe you, and I don't understand you.
