Christians, Evolution, and Dinosaurs
This week at (Re)Discovering Jesus we spent a half hour talking a little about dinosaurs and evolution from a Christian perspective. Here are a few of the major points we covered in response.
We Need Each Other
Without each other, we do not have the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Our relationship with God is incomplete as individuals. We may yearn for independence, but God has designed us with dependence in mind, both on Himself and on each other.
The Ending Makes All the Difference
The ending of a story makes all the difference. It affects how we see the rest of the story. When Jesus Christ returns in glory, He will resurrect us and place us in His new creation. This is our great hope. This ending makes all the difference.
Entering into God's Presence
It's easy to take the fact that we have access to God for granted, but it's a relatively new phenomenon in the history of the world and one that is overwhelmingly good. Because of Christ's sacrifice we can now confidently enter into God's presence, having God's acceptance and pleasure because of His acceptance of and pleasure in Christ.
Satan is not God's Evil Twin
What is Satan like? Is he like God but evil? What does the Bible say?
God the Good Source
Whatever compels you, whatever drives your life, whatever keeps you up at night, whatever thrills you--whatever it is that you find good in the world is found in greater abundance and purity in God than anywhere else. Come to Him.
