Unity for the Win (A Memoir of Hope #1)

When we as a church fight to protect our God-given unity, we can accomplish great things. When we refuse to fight each other, refuse to divide over unimportant things, and cling to the truth that makes us alive, we can change the world.

This week's primary text was Titus 3:8-11. We also quoted our own translation of Titus 3:4-7, an attempt to capture the poetic memorability of the original:

When love appeared, and kindness too,
   From God, our saving God,
They were not brought by righteous works,
   That we ourselves had done.
Instead in tune with mercy His,
   Salvation came to us,
Through washing that regenerates,
   Renewing Holy Ghost,
The One He richly poured on us
   By Savior Jesus Christ,
That righteous by His grace alone
   His heirs we would become
In hope, sure hope of endless life
   In ages yet to come.
