The peace of God doesn’t just extend to our relationship with Him, it spreads and extends to those around us as well. Our union with Christ creates the opportunity for deep relationships of peace, harmony, and sacrificial love, and when it doesn't, it offers us a way forward.
Main Text: Philippians 4:2-9
This passage continues with Paul’s theme of experiencing joy via union with Christ. That joy comes from presence (i.e., prayer) and imitation (i.e., obedience), as we encounter the living Christ through His Spirit who lives in us.
This joy and pattern are Paul’s strategy for handling interpersonal conflicts—they’re his strategy for all of life.
If we’d follow a similar life strategy, knowing Jesus and imitating Him, in all the little practical details of life, we’d see deep, lasting friendships built on peace and joy and love. Who doesn’t want that?
