God’s rescue of the Jews in the Persian Empire was a grand reversal—but it’s what He’s in the habit of doing. He helps the helpless, the powerless, the downtrodden, the broken hearted, refugees and wanderers, widows and the poor and orphans and the spiritually impoverished. Now He’s inviting us to join Him. Will we?

The people who planned to exterminate the Jews were instead slaughtered. And the Jews instituted an annual feast in celebration.
God has always been on the side of the helpless—from the first identification of His people, Israel, to the gospel of Jesus’ kingdom—so maybe we should be on the side of the helpless too.
